AUSTRALIA'S FIRST EV UTE CONFIRMED

AUSTRALIA'S FIRST EV UTE CONFIRMED

LDV this week has announced that they'll be bringing not one, not two, but THREE new commercial style EV's to the Australian market by the end of the year.

Australia whilst having a large want for dual cab's, has so far missed out on all the offerings that other countries like China and the America have.

LDV sells the eT60 currently in New Zealand and have done so for most of this year, their orders were fulfilled in Q3. The eT60 has a huge 88.5 kWh battery and a WLTP rated driving range of around 330km.

It has been confirmed the 3 new models will have CCS and are able to charge off an 11kW AC charger from 5 - 100% in nine hours where as the DC charging will do the same in roughly 45 minutes.

The battery allows motor with 150kW of power and 310Nm of torque to drive the newly released dual cab which is only available in 4×2 (rear-wheel drive) spec. It’s rated to tow up to 1500kg, which for a dual cab isn't much at all, but you can be sure we'll have a towing option available as soon as we get our hands on this beast!

We are hearing rumours of the eT60 costing around the $70,000 mark, which for a 4x2 dual cab is quite high, but the fuel saving and environmental impact this will have is worthwhile!

With dealer models starting to arrive in November, we're excited to see these models here which hopefully gives the push to other manufacturers to bring an EV Dual cab to the market.

Once dealer models arrive we'll write again with how they drive with and without payload.
